The Hillesheim Family Newsletter Family Friendly Times

Gizmo - our favorite pet

The is an online version of The Hillesheim Family Newsletter. It's here for all to enjoy. Well, we all know that 'enjoy' is a relative term, right? Anyway, these are the efforts of a wonderful mom and her desire for the family to have a sense of communication and interaction - in spite of the family being scattered all across Utah.

Soon you will be able to read the archives of this newsletter in its second year. But, first things first. We must finish this site before the archives are uploaded for you to read.

Grandma Nielsen’s 90th birthday next year

admin August 30th, 2009

Hi- we are going to try to get a reunion for the cousins together , but celebrate Grandma Nielsen’s 90 birthday at the same time, what better way to have everyone get together. It will be the first Vaundell Nielsen reunion. I thought about having it in Preston, because we could go to the park there and when Mom got tired we could take her to Twila’s house to rest. We could spend all day at the park with games and pictures and lunch and visiting. Then we could all go home or we could spend the night there and come back the next morning and all of us caravan up to mInk creek to see where it all started. What a great photo op there too and lots of history. The Grand children and great grandchildren would really love that and most importantly it would be very important to Grandma NIelsen. So what do you think.???

Emergency preparedness/ food storage

admin August 30th, 2009

Hi- For any of you who really read this. We had a fifth of the month meeting with RS and Priesthood and it was all about this subject. I hope each of you are trying to further your stash of food storage and have emergency things on hand in case you need to grab it fast incase of an emergency. We had this non member at church today and her works with this sort of thing. He said that it is inevitable. Something will happen., whether it is a bad storm or a plane crashing into your house or the city closes all groceries stores because of some type of terrorist/poisoning. We need not be afraid, but we need to be really prepared. please,——each one of you need to take it seriously. When you go to the grocery store, pick up extra of things to add to your food storage. little by little you can build it up quickly over time.  Don’t forget things like bandaids, vitamins, blankets, granola bars, hard candies, water, water, water, dehydrated things are great. You can eat them even without water, if you had to.Get things that your kids will eat and that are handy. Learn how to fix things in an emergency, the internet is wonderful for all those kinds of things. It would be great if each of you got ideas and gave to each other. Dad and I want to have a meeting and activity of just that and make it fun, but as a concern. Let’s be prepared!!!!!!!!! Together!!!

admin May 31st, 2009

Well we talked about having a Dan Hillesheim Family reunion, so what do you think?  We thought of the Holbrook cabin.  It is up in Bear lake. They would let us all rent it. The house would fit all of us!! it is really nice. There is a slide for this kids to get from the top floor to the back yard. Cool huh?  Anyway, put that in your miond and start thinking of what we can do and when.OK?

June is Here!!

admin May 31st, 2009

Well tomorrow our new month of June starts. The last day for Amy’s kids is the 4th of JUne. The last day for most everyone else is the 5th of JUne.  boston got out of preschool on the 22nd of this month. Wow , it is really weird how fast the summer comes , once spring arrives huh? The kids are thinking,” School is out,Yea!”. Parents are thinking, “Great, now I have to keep them busy all day everyday!” But at least you don’t have to get up early kids!  Does any of you have any fun things planned for your families? Well sometime soon we will all have to plan a fun thing for the whole family. All 29 of us!  —-Speaking of the whole family, we need to plan the Dan Hillesheim reunion this summer for like an overnighter. Sound fun?
